TODAY: Screening of The Memphis 13 at Crosstown Theater

The Memphis 13 Foundation is hosting a screening of Professor Kiel’s 2011 documentary film, The Memphis 13, on Thurs, 2/22, at 6:30pm, at the Crosstown Theater (1350 Concourse Ave). The Memphis 13 shares the stories of the first African American students to desegregate Memphis schools, which they did as first graders in 1961. Several of the pioneering students will also be on hand to share reflections as part of the Foundation’s “Look Back, Launch Forward” initiative.
