The SBA Election Rules detail everything that each candidate must do in order to be eligible to run. Read the SBA Election Rules carefully and mind the specific due dates. Here is a brief summary of the main requirements.

– Email the Elections Commissioner (Lexi Hivner) expressing your desire to run; be sure to include which position you would like to run for.

– Submit a completed Grade Release form and Signature Form to the Elections Commissioner via mailbox 179 (Lexi Hivner’s mailbox).

– Submit a written statement (200-word limit) to the Elections Commissioner via email:  achivner@memphis.edu.  The statement will be included on the ballot so voting students can get a sense of who they’re voting for.

– Get fellow students to “sign” your signature pages to run.  Attached to the election forms for each respective position are signature pages that must be turned in for an individual to be included on the ballot.

All other rules can be found within the election’s packet.  If you have any additional questions about the election process after reading the Election Rules, please reach out to the Lexi Hivner, the Elections Commissioner, directly at achivner@memphis.edu.
