Grillin’ with the Wilsons! Professor Wilson. A max of 6 guests. You’ll start with a tour of Ardent Studios, where Professor Wilson’s husband works as a sound engineer and director of the film department. Ardent is a professional recording studio boasting work with artists like Isaac Hayes, R.E.M., ZZ Top, The Gin Blossoms, Lucero, Skillet, and The White Stripes. After the tour, the party will move to the Wilson’s house in Midtown. There will be adult beverages, food, and, of course, music. The menu is subject to negotiation. YUM!
Admissions Office Brunch – McClellan and Kara Phillips: The Admissions office is offering up brunch for four people at any time. Come relax with Kara and Sue Ann McClellan for some fantastic food and delightful company. Brunchin’ is a habit, just like stuntin, and you won’t want to miss out on this one.
Biking with the Bros: McClurg/Romantz up to four students will join Professors Romantz & McClurg on a bike ride across the Mississippi River on the new Big River Crossing bike path and then eat/drink afterwards on South Main Street.
Professor Black: Black Bar Review: A two hour review session for any one of the following bar tested courses to be selected by the winning bidder: Family Law, Secured Transactions or Decedents’ Estates. The winning bidder may select the date/time of the review session; provided it must be in May or June 2016. The review session will be held at the law school and will be open to all Memphis Law graduates planning to sit for the July 2017 Tennessee bar exam. The winning bidder may select (a) the date of the review session (from mutually agreeable dates with Professor Black, but not before May 15, 2017) and (b) the subject matter of the review session. MINIMUM BID $50.
Dean Mulroy’s famous (or infamous) Karaoke night. Two rounds of drinks for up to 6 people, and a live, public karaoke performance of a song with personalized lyrics lampooning the bid winner(s).
Pick a card, any card! Professor Bock is up to his zany antics again with this one! Award to the highest bidder the opportunity to shuffle the attendance cards for three class sessions of Civil Procedure II this semester. A “bidder” can be: (i) an individual student, (ii) a group of two students, or (iii) a group of three students. If the winning bidder is a group, then the three shuffling opportunities will be split among the group members (e.g., each member could shuffle for one class or a portion thereof). The winning bidder is *not* exempt from being called on if, as a result of their own shuffling, their card(s) happen to get chosen. Only 1Ls in Section 11 may bid on this item.
Bowling with Braisher: A group of 6 students. Dinner and cosmic bowling. While Professor Braisher might be a Property and Decedents’ Estates guru he is a disastrous bowler.
Professor Frank: Cajun Mimosa Brunch for a group of 6 students. This professor’s cooking skills are as amazing as her knowledge of the rules of evidence. Get spiced up for some FRANKly delicious food, and bottomless mimosas!
Drafts with the Dean. a Memphis Taproom Tour for 6. Successful bidders get to the pick three separate dates for drafts at Wiseacre, High Cotton, and Memphis Made. Dean buys two rounds for each member of the group at each taproom and will arrange for non-alcoholic (or food) substitutions for those who prefer something less hoppy.
Sushi with Schaffzins: 8 students. Get your roll on with Danny and Kathrine as they prepare mountains of fresh sushi straight from the Mississippi.
Painting with a Twist: Professor Black and Professor Wilson partner up for painting with a twist. A private paint party for 8 law students with Professors Black and Wilson at Pinot’s Palette in East Memphis. The party will be on a mutually agreeable Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening in January 2017. A nice selection of wine and appetizers will be supplied by Professor Black. The winning bidder may consult with Professor Black to select the featured painting. No artistic talent required.
Wine and Dine with the Fine Memphis Law Alumni Board: Mr. Richard Glassman, President of the Memphis Law Alumni board donates his fine wine for tasting and hor d’ oeuvres by Maximillion Catering for 6 students. Come and meet the members of the Memphis Law Alumni Board who work hard to raise money for the law school each year!
Professors on a pedal tavern! Campbell/Newman: If you’ve been eating too many Bardog club sandwiches and you’re not a fan of exercise don’t worry, Profs. Newman and Campbell are in excellent shape so they’ll probably be doing all the peddling for you (right?). If you’ve never done a peddle tavern they are a ton of fun and now is your chance! 5 to 7 people may bid on this awesome item!
