Here are a few things you should know . . .

  • Clinics and Externships have a separate sign up process. Please check the On Legal Grounds blog for more information.
  • The Advanced Criminal Prosecution intersession has a separate sign up process. Contact Prof.  Schaffzin with questions.
  • 1Ls cannot enroll in a seminar nor a skills course, so there’s no need to complete either survey.
  • Before completing the survey(s), please review the prerequisites for any course you have an interest in.
  • Seats are NOT awarded on a first come-first serve basis.   Date of graduation, and whether a student must have the seminar or skills to graduate are deciding factors for who gets a seat in a course. For example, a 3L who plans to graduate in May 2018 who has not completed the Skills or Advanced Writing requirement, will receive a seat before a 3L who has satisfied those requirements.
  • If you want both a skills and a seminar, you must complete the both surveys.
  • If you attempt either survey before 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2017, you will receive the error message, “Sorry, this has not started.”
  • The more courses you rank, the better the chance you’ll receive a seat. However, please do not rank any course you do not want to be enrolled.  If you want more than one skills course, please note that at the end of the survey in the “Notes for Registrar” box. Otherwise, you will only receive a seat in one skills course.
  • If you are not chosen for your first choice, we will try to put you into your second choice, then third choice and so on until you have a seat in one of the courses you ranked. If when you are informed of the course you were “awarded,” you do not want the course, please email the Registrar’s office to decline.
  • Students who receive seats will be notified via email of the courses “awarded” on Friday, November 3.  If you do not receive an email from me, you did not receive a seat a course.
  • If you do not receive an email that you received a seat, you may ask to be placed on a waitlist. Please email the Registrar’s office.
