REMINDER – Floor Cleaning Begins December 12th

The Physical Plant has hired a vendor to deep clean and wax the hard surface floors in the law school main hallways, bathrooms, kitchens, etc. The process will involve stripping off all the wax that has accumulated over the years and then waxing the floors. During the process the floors will be VERY slippery!

The work will begin on the first floor around 3pm on Friday, December 12th. The crew will work over the weekend and into the following work week from 3pm until 6 or 7am the following morning to minimize disruption. Please stay out of the building the weekend of December 12 – 14. If you must be in the building that weekend, make sure security knows you are present so they can alert the crews. Lots of signage and caution tape will be used to block areas while they are being treated, but please use extreme care if you are in the building while they are working.

The crews will need to open some office doors in order to seal them off to keep water out. We stressed to the vendor they need to lock these doors as soon as possible.

The vendor said it will not be unpleasant but there will be a different smell that some people may notice.
