Protocol for Law Students After a Potential COVID-19 Exposure or Positive Test
Dear Students,
With in-person classes underway, we wanted to remind you of the steps to follow if you have potentially been exposed to COVID-19 or if you have received a positive COVID-19 test:
- Contact the main campus Dean of Students as soon as possible at deanofstudents@memphis.edu or 901.678.2187 to report that you have been exposed or have received a positive test. They will determine whether you need to quarantine, and if so, for how long. Follow whatever guidance they give you.
- Do not attend classes in-person until the Dean of Students’ office authorizes you to return to in-person classes at the law school. If you will miss classes during this time, contact your professors to advise them of your situation.
- If you are required to quarantine, the Dean of Students across campus will provide you with an email you can share with your professors, and your professors will work with you to ensure that you don’t miss important information in their classes. This will often, but not always, mean providing class recordings for classes during your quarantine. Contact your professors to make appropriate arrangements for absences and submission of assignments during quarantine.
- If you need help with anything other than class information and recordings, please contact Dean Aden.
The university has on-site testing – including rapid tests – on main campus. You can find more information here.
Thanks,
Dean Aden
