Professor of the Year & Adjunct Professor of the Year Announcement

The Memphis Law Student Bar Association is excited to announce the following:
The students of Memphis Law have selected Professor Ronnie Gipson as Professor of the Year for the 2022-2023 academic year.  As a relatively new professor, Professor Gipson began his career at Memphis Law on zoom in 2019, alongside the current graduating class, and he has fully integrated himself into the Memphis law community upon his return to campus.  With little coincidence, this is also Professor Gipson’s first year as the faculty advisor for the Memphis Law Review.  It is our pleasure to recognize Professor Gipson and highlight his contribution to our school and scholarship.
The students of Memphis Law have also selected Professor Josh Whitehead ’05 as Adjunct Professor of the Year for the 2022-2023 academic year.  Professor Whitehead is the former Planning Director for Memphis and Shelby County and is currently a Senior Attorney at Burch, Porter, and Johnson.  He is known far and wide for his lively and engaging Land Use class—indeed, Professor Whitehead has a reputation as a comedian among students who have never even taken the class.  We thank Professor Whitehead for continuing to donate his time and expertise to the University.
