Pro Bono Opportunity with West TN Legal Services!

WTLS will be hosting an estate planning clinic for Pro Bono Month. This event will help low income Tennesseans in the Jackson area by drafting wills, powers of attorney, and advanced directives. WTLS will utilize attorneys, law students, and non attorney volunteers in different parts of this clinic. The portion where law students will be involved will be October 18-20. After clients call WTLS and sign up for the clinic, they will be paired with a law student. The law student will call the client using Google Voice or by blocking their number and complete an online questionnaire. This questionnaire will automatically generate the documents needed by the client. The student will then book the client for a virtual or telephone meeting with an attorney using Microsoft Booking. We will be hosting a training session that will be recorded for any students who have questions prior to the event about estate planning or the process. This will be our first event. We are also in the process of planning an expungement clinic with a similar format.
