Planning and Law Division of the American Planning Association – Smith-Babcock-Williams Student Writing Competition
The Planning & Law Division of the American Planning Association is pleased to announce its 35th Annual Smith-Babcock-Williams Student Writing Competition and asks you to share this announcement with your student body. The Competition is open to law students and planning students writing on a question of significance in planning, planning law, land use law, local government law or environmental law. Students are encouraged to submit relevant research papers and law review or journal notes prepared throughout the academic year.
The winning entry will be awarded a prize of $2,000 and submitted for publication in The Urban Lawyer, the law journal of the American Bar Association’s Section of State & Local Government Law. The Second Place paper will receive a prize of $400 and one Honorable Mention prize of $100 will also be awarded. The deadline for submission of entries is June 4, 2018 and winners will be announced by August 29, 2017. Please refer to the link below for official rules.
