PAID Clerkship with UT Health & Science Center

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center’s Office of the General Counsel and Secretary has an opening for a PAID LAW CLERK IN MEMPHIS beginning in June of 2016.

Job Description:  Identify relevant sources of law, research legal issues, present the results of the research to the supervising attorney. Draft pleadings and legal memoranda.  Perform medical literature research. File documents with various Courts. Prepare for and attend depositions and court appearances to assist attorneys. Involves a considerable amount of reading and research.

Minimum Position Requirements:  Must be a second year law student at an A.B.A. accredited law school. Must be computer proficient. Superior communication skills required. Strong academic background and either law review or moot court experience preferred. Law student with an interest in medical malpractice, health care or employment law preferred. Familiarity with Shelby County Courthouse and clerks’ offices a plus. 

Salary:  $12.00/hour.  This position is part-time. (30 hours per week in the Summer, will also consider hiring 2 people to split the hours)
