OSCAR Access for Class of 2026

OSCAR is the tool used to search for post-graduate federal judicial clerkships.

From OSCAR Administrators:

We are writing to inform law schools that the Ad Hoc Committee on Law Clerk Hiring has extended the pilot of its Federal Law Clerk Hiring Plan for two additional years as follows:

Graduating Class of 2026

For students who entered law school in 2023:

Judges will not accept formal or informal clerkship applications, or seek or accept formal or informal recommendations, before 12:00 pm EDT on June 9, 2025. Judges also will not directly or indirectly contact applicants, or schedule or conduct formal or informal interviews, or make formal or informal offers, before 12:00 pm EDT on June 10, 2025.

OSCAR System Access

Please note, OSCAR releases electronic applications in accordance with the dates set by the Federal Law Clerk Hiring Plan. Applicants from the law school class of 2026 will gain access to OSCAR on January 21, 2025 to register for an account, upload documents, search for positions, and build applications. Access dates for the class of 2027 are being determined and will likely be announced in early 2025.
