Office of University Counsel – Volunteer Summer Research Opportunity
The University of Memphis Office of Legal Counsel is looking for a law student volunteer to assist with a defined research project. The volunteer will assist with comparing and benchmarking policies for legal compliance, developing a directory of proposed policies, and drafting and reviewing proposed policies in compliance with existing legislation. The volunteer will have the opportunity to work with legal office staff as well as University administrators. The volunteer may work remotely or in in the Office of Legal Counsel at main campus, at times of their choosing. It is anticipated that a volunteer working 5-10 hours a week will be able to complete the assignment in 1-2 months. This assignment will be especially attractive for students interested in governmental relations, education law and/or employment law. Hours performed by the selected student can be counted toward completion of the pro bono graduation requirement and/or other pro bono award recognitions.
