The Public Defender from Northeastern Minnesota is interested in recruiting Memphis law students!
Good morning, I am reaching out to introduce myself as the chief public defender in northeastern Minnesota. We will be in the Memphis area October 19 and would love an opportunity to meet your students and recent grads interested in careers in public defense. I will have an information table outside the student lounge on Thursday October 19 from 12:30 to 1:30 (longer if students are still coming). Minnesota public defenders are a state wide public defense agency undergoing a significant expansion in our staff with a recent 100 million dollar infusion. We will have 100 new attorney positions to hire and nearly 40 vacancies throughout the state of Minnesota. We offer industry-leading wages, $88,000 to $158,000, excellent public sector healthcare coverage, countless days of leave time, and 12 weeks of paid parental leave with a strong training and mentoring program. We are an organization focused on transformative justice seeking to improve the lives of those we fared the worst, Indigenous and African American neighbors.
