Law Students are Invited to Attend the Red Mass
The Red Mass is celebrated near the beginning of each judicial year to ask for wisdom and guidance in the pursuit of justice by the legal system. It is traditionally attended by lawyers, judges, and others working in the justice system. The tradition can be traced back many centuries in Europe. In the U.S., the tradition began in 1928 and continues in several cities to this day, most notably in in Washington, D.C., where Supreme Court Justices and other government officials are regularly in attendance.
This year’s Red Mass in Memphis will take place on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Peter Church. You can find a flyer with more information below.
