Kaplan 1L Diagnostic – May 10 – 17

The 1L diagnostic is a virtual test that will be open from Saturday, May 10 – Saturday, May 17. It is a tool that will support your continued academic success, provide you with additional individualized assessment, and assist the law school in determining the resources and programs we may offer your class in anticipation of the bar exam.

The 1L diagnostic will test each student’s knowledge and skill through a series of multiple-choice questions in Torts, Contracts, Real Property, Civil Procedure, and Criminal Law.

The diagnostic takes approximately 3 hours to complete and includes 100 multiple-choice questions across all five subjects. Further, each of the multiple-choice questions asks students to answer a skills-based question, targeted at one of the following skills: reading comprehension, issue spotting, rule articulation, application/analysis, and evaluation.

Each student will receive a personalized report detailing your performance on the diagnostic, including individualized recommendations for where to focus your attention and studies to improve your academic performance and bar success. You will also receive a score that is relative to your peers.

You will receive an email directly from Kaplan with instructions for completing the diagnostic on May 9. Please complete the diagnostic to the best of your abilities without reference to any materials. You will have from Saturday, May 10 – Saturday, May 17 to complete and submit your diagnostic. You do not have to complete it all in one sitting, and your responses will be saved if you need to return to the assessment later.
