Gideon’s Promise Summer Clerkship – Deadline 3/15

Gideon’s Promise is currently accepting Summer Law Clerk applications. The deadline to apply is March 15th, 2016. Please note this organization will be present at the Public Interest Fair on 2/17!

This pipeline program places law school students in our Gideon’s Promise partner offices for the summer – roughly 6-8 weeks. Clerks are paired with a Gideon’s Promise-trained lawyer, exposed to indigent defense practice, and the Gideon’s Promise network of support. Clerks gain valuable experience drafting legal documents, conducting witness and client interviews, jail visits, assisting public defenders with cases, briefs, motions, and will have opportunities to conduct legal research, and much, much more.

Prior to the beginning their clerkships, selected students will attend an orientation in Atlanta hosted by Gideon’s Promise, the Southern Center for Human Rights, and other Atlanta-based public interest organizations. Summer law clerks will have the opportunity to network with like-minded students and to hone skills they will employ throughout their clerkships.
