Federal Trade Commission Networking Event Monday Night

We hope that you will attend the networking event on Monday March 9 at 5:30 pm in the 4th Floor Ball Reading Room. Please RSVP in Symplicity so that we can make sure there are enough refreshments.  Below is a message from Ms. Dama Brown of the Federal Trade Commission:

My colleagues and I are eager to visit the University of Memphis School of Law and to meet with student leaders and future lawyers.

We’ll be at the Wade Auditorium on March 9 and 10 for a Heartland Common Ground Conference, which will explore consumer protection issues. The March 9th program is public and students are welcome to sit in on sessions as their class schedule may permit. Herbert Slatery, the Attorney General for the State of Tennessee, will provide keynote remarks around 1:00 p.m. that day. More details about the event—including an agenda and speaker biographies—are available on our Event Page.

Working in the public sector–and at the Federal Trade Commission– has been a rewarding experience. In fact, the FTC regularly ranks as one of the best places to work in the federal government. I’m fortunate to work with many brilliant lawyers and economists who are dedicated to our consumer protection mission. Some of their testimonials are available here and other information about FTC careers can be found here.

I hope that [students] feel welcome to drop into any of our sessions on March 9 and to attend the networking event at 5:30.
