Fall 2018 Externship Course – It’s Not Too Late to Apply – U of M Athletic Compliance Placement and Other Externships Remain Open!
Dear Rising 2L and 3L Students:
If you are not one of the students already enrolled in the Fall 2018 Externship Course, it is not too late to apply for a number of excellent field placements that remain available through Course enrollment. Among them are the following:
- University of Memphis Athletic Compliance (two or three credits; 8 or 12 weekly placement hours)
- Memphis Area Legal Services (two or three credits; 8 or 12 weekly placement hours)
- Expungement; Family Unit, Consumer Unit, Education Law Unit, Fair Housing Center, Low Income Taxpayer Unit placements
- U.S. District Court (two or three credits; 8 or 12 weekly placement hours) — Several U.S. District Court Judges and Magistrates Still Have Externship Openings
- Tennessee Supreme Court (two credits; 8 weekly placement hours)
- Baptist Memorial Healthcare – Office of Legal Counsel (three credits; 12 weekly placement hours)
- Regional One Health (formerly The Med) – Office of Legal Counsel (three credits; 12 weekly placement hours)
- Community Legal Center (two or three credits; 8 or 12 weekly placement hours)
- Latino Memphis – Immigrant Rights Defense Center (two or three credits; 8 or 12 weekly placement hours)
- Mid-South Immigration Advocates (two or three credits; 8 or 12 weekly placement hours)
- Memphis City Attorney’s Office – Litigation Unit and Transactional Unit (three credits; 12 weekly placement hours)
- Equal Employment Opportunity Commission – Hearings Unit (three credits; 12 weekly placement hours)
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Memphis District Counsel (three credits; 12 weekly placement hours)
- Ducks Unlimited – Office of General Counsel or Department of Land Protection (three credits; 12 weekly placement hours)
- Youth Villages – Office of General Counsel – (two credits; 8 weekly placement hours)
