How will the event work?

Law students will sign up for one of the topics listed. Breakout rooms via zoom will be created for each covered topic. The law students will remain in thier designated break out rooms and participating students will join the breakout rooms that they desire. Students will spend 15 minutes in each breakout room. Here law students should prepare to share feedback and factual information concerning the topics. After 15 minutes in a breakout room, students will switch to another room, and this process will be repeat 5 times giving high school students the opportunity to hear from multiple law students. Law students are free to be a creative in thier breakout rooms. There is no required structure. We only ask that law students leave ample time (5-10 minutes) for open questions and discussions. Additionally, if law students intend to create a PowerPoint, or any other documents to share with high school students in thier break out rooms please email to jvmcknny@memphis.edu two days prior to the event Feb 21st. Additionally, there are two law student slots for each topic and if there is any intended presentation this should be coordinated and communicated with all participants. Finally, as with all Street Law opportunities, law students will receive pro-bono hours for thier participation in the event.
