Counseling Services for Law Students

Dear Students,

There are several counseling resources available for students.  You can find more information below.

Thanks,
Dean Aden

University Counseling Center

The University of Memphis Counseling Center provides free counseling, wellness, and psychiatric services (for uninsured students) and for University of Memphis students, including law students.

In-person and virtual appointments are available for law students.
  • First visits to the Counseling Center do not require an appointment, but students must be currently enrolled
  • Students can walk in Monday-Friday between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM to be set up with services and meet with staff through our virtual waiting room or in Wilder Tower room 214
  • Prior to meeting with a walk-in therapist, students will be guided on how to complete initial paperwork
  • For appointments after the first meeting, students may schedule with their assigned therapist or by calling 901.678.2068
  • For counseling emergencies during office hours, please come to the Counseling Center, call the office, or enter the virtual waiting room and ask to be seen
  • Students facing a mental health emergency outside of regular business hours, including weekends, holidays or campus closures, now have the option to dial the Tiger Care Line.  To reach Tiger Care, dial the main Counseling Center number at 901.678.2068 and choose option 2. This will connect them to a skilled counselor who is ready to assist.
More information is available here.

University of Memphis Psychological Services Center

The University of Memphis Psychological Services Center also offers counseling services at a reduced cost ($12/hour) for full-time students.   Call 901.678.2147 to schedule an appointment.  You can find more information here.   (Note:  there is no limit to the amount of sessions permitted, unlike the University of Memphis, which has semester limits on the number of visits by each student).
