Civil Rights Panel

On February 19, 2015, BLSA will host a Civil Rights Panel.  This panel will focus on the struggles of the Civil Rights Movement and how the law has progressed since that era.  In addition, the panelists will share their personal experiences that they endured during that time and today as an attorney, judge, or public figure.

This event will take place in Wade Auditorium at 12:00 p.m.  Speakers will include:

  • United States Attorney for the Western District, Edward Stanton, III (moderator)
  • Judge D’Army Bailey
  • Attorney Charles E. Carpenter
  • Attorney David Caywood
  • Dr. Willie Herenton (former Mayor of The City of Memphis)
