ARE YOU READY TO REGISTER?

Ready.Set.Register. Fair | Transition & Engagement | TTU

Registration starts Monday, November 9. The Law Registrar’s office knows this is a busy time for students, but please carve out some time to plan your Spring 2021 schedule. Here is a checklist we hope will help.

  1. Review the Registration Materials, especially the Registrar’s Memo.
  2. Take care of business BEFORE registration begins.
    • Did you need an Alternate PIN cleared in a previous semester? Start the JD/MBA joint degree program this semester? Register for accommodations this semester? If so, you may need an Alternate PIN cleared.  Contact the Law Registrar’s office to confirm.
    • Do you have a HOLD on your account because you owe the University money? If so, be sure to clear your account on TigerXpress in myMemphis under your Account$ tab. Contact the USBS office if you require assistance. The Law Registrar cannot assist with HOLDS.
  3. Determine your attempt hours.
    • NOTE: Fall 2020 hours are not included in attempt hours.
  4. Determine your designated registration day. Not sure? Contact the Law Registrar’s office.
    • Students registered through the Disability Resources for Students office may NOT register early despite emails you may have received from the DRS office or messaging that appears in myMemphis. Check your unofficial transcript to determine your attempt hours and designated registration day. If you register earlier than your designated registration day, you WILL be dropped from your classes.
    • MAKE A NOTE: Veteran’s registration opens at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, November 9.  November 9-13, registration opens at 9:00 a.m.
  5. 2L and 3L students: Build the schedule you hope to have, but have a back up, because you may not get into one or more of the courses you want.
    • Students should consider using Schedule Builder. Although it does not guarantee you a spot in a class, it could increase your chances of getting a seat.
  6. Graduating 3Ls: Law Registrar, Cheryl Edwards emailed feedback to every 3L who submitted their Graduation Checklist (subject line: “follow up – Graduation Checklist). READ THAT EMAIL to ensure you register for all the courses you need to graduation.
  7. 1Ls: You will register yourself for Spring 2021. You must remain in the same section (11, 12 or 14 and Legal Methods). An email was sent to every 1L with instructions. If you have any problems or questions, please contact the Law Registrar’s office.

HAPPY REGISTERING!
