APPELLATE ADVOCACY
Everyone currently enrolled in Appellate Advocacy should have received a memo discussing how to preference a small section. Please contact Cheryl Edwards to indicate your section preference or if you did not receive a memo.
There is still room in the class and we welcome more enrollment. Please contact Cheryl Edwards if you plan to enroll so you can preference a section. Third-year students and students on law review are welcome.
We have a great problem that forms the basis of the class and is the problem for the Advanced Moot Court competition. Very generally, the issues are whether anti-panhandling laws violate the First Amendment and whether police violate the Fourth Amendment by conducting a warrantless search of a homeless person’s living area. The Advanced problem will be available on TWEN the first day of classes and the competition kick-off will be shortly after Labor Day. The brief is due at the beginning of October.
