Accessing Canvas Courses Before First Day of Classes
REMINDER! Professors will post first assignments for each course on the Canvas course page, the University’s online course management platform. On the first day of classes, your courses for the semester will appear on your Dashboard in Canvas. Before the first day of classes, your courses will be listed under “Future Enrollments.” To see your future enrollments, follow the steps listed below.
IMPORTANT: Each professor will use Canvas differently. Some professors will use Canvas throughout the semester, while others may direct you to a different platform for the rest of the semester. Remember that the first assignment may be posted via the Syllabus, a schedule of assignments, or an announcement. Please carefully explore the Canvas course for each of your classes to make sure you’re aware of the information posted through Canvas. If your professor hasn’t posted anything yet, check again as we get closer to the first day of classes. Be sure to keep an eye out for direct emails from your professor and Canvas announcements. (Make sure you’ve set up notifications in Canvas so that you receive emails for announcements and documents posted to Canvas!)
If you have a question about a specific course, please reach out to your professor directly.
If you have trouble accessing Canvas or any of your classes on Canvas, please contact the IT Helpdesk at 901-678-8888.
