A Call to Stop Hate

This past week has been incredibly difficult for American Muslims. There has been a sharp rise in Islamophobia and anti-Muslim sentiment this week, and our mosque had to close doors temporarily as a precaution. Members of Muslim Student Bar Association have personally received hateful comments.
Earlier this week, a 6-year-old Palestinian American Muslim boy was stabbed repeatedly in Plainfield, IL by an Islamophobe and anti-Muslim extremist. American Bar Association has also issued a statement condemning hate and violence.
We are calling for a moment of silence to pray/think about those affected in an effort to unite and support our community. A moment of silence will be observed on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 11:59am Infront of the school. Please join us infront of the law school on Tuesday at 11:59am for one minute to participate in moment of silence. You can pray/think about those who are affected by recent violence.
