OSCAR January Access Dates by Graduating Class
The class of 2027 gains access to OSCAR to allow applicants to create an account, upload documents, search for positions, and prepare applications for federal judicial clerkships.

Applicants gain access to OSCAR on January 20, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. EST.

Students with existing access may continue updating documents, submitting applications, and managing recommendations throughout the hiring season.
Federal Law Clerk Hiring Plan – Key Reminders
Under the Federal Law Clerk Hiring Plan, participating judges adhere to specific timelines regarding when they may review applications, conduct interviews, and extend offers for students with two full years of law school grades.
Graduating Class of 2027
For students who entered law school in 2024 (and for Judges who use OSCAR):

Judges will not accept formal or informal clerkship applications, or seek or accept formal or informal recommendations, before 12:00 pm EDT on Monday, June 8, 2026.

Judges also will not directly or indirectly contact applicants, whether to schedule interviews or otherwise before 12:00 pm EDT on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Judges will not conduct formal or informal interviews, or make formal or informal offers, before 12:00 pm EDT on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
Note: As an experiment, a day has been added between the interview scheduling period and interview period
Graduating Class of 2028: Applicants gain access to OSCAR on January 19, 2027 at 8 am EST.
