In addition to the Rice Law On Campus Interviews (OCI), these two law firms also have application deadlines of Monday January 16:

1. Butler Snow, a firm practicing in litigation and business, seeks a 1L Summer 2023 Associate for offices in Memphis, TN; Nashville, TN; Birmingham, AL; and Ridgeland, MS. Compensation $2250 per week.    • Scholarships and Dollar Amount: The Firm will award up to 4 Butler Snow Diversity/Inclusivity Scholarships to incoming 1L’s annually. Recipients of the scholarship will receive a paid 1L summer associate position, plus a $2,500 scholarship to be distributed in August following their clerkship. These scholarships are intended to allow the students to defray the cost of their continuing legal education.

   o If a candidate accepts an offer to return and clerk with Butler Snow after their 2L year, the candidate would receive an additional $1,500 scholarship to be distributed in August following that 2L clerkship.
   • Eligibility: A scholarship applicant must be diverse and have excellent undergraduate and law school academic performance, as well as leadership ability, personal and professional accomplishments, and a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity. Additional qualifications to be eligible include: (1) be a full-time law student in the first-year of classes at an accredited law school; (2) apply and receive an offer to join Butler Snow’s summer associate program (3) indicate a potential interest in practicing with Butler Snow after graduation.
   • Application Process: A completed application and a personal statement (500 words or less) should be completed to obtain the scholarship.
   • Selection Process: Recipients will be selected based on a myriad of factors, including: (1) undergraduate and law school academic performance; (2) demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and contributing to the firm’s diversity goals; (3) personal achievement; (4) leadership ability; (5) strong oral and written skills; (6) community service; (7) commitment to succeed as a lawyer; and (7) the personal statement.
