1L Kaplan Diagnostic – Closes Sat. (5/18)

Dear Class of 2026:
The 1L diagnostic will occur from Saturday, May 11 – Saturday, May 18. This is a tool that will support your continued academic success, provide you with additional individualized assessment, and assist the law school in determining the resources and programs we may offer your class in anticipation of the bar exam.
The 1L diagnostic will test each student’s knowledge and skill through a series of multiple-choice questions in Torts, Contracts, Real Property, Civil Procedure, and Criminal Law.
The diagnostic takes approximately 2 hours to complete and includes 80 MBE-style questions across all five subjects (16 questions per subject). The topic breakdown within each subject is designed to be similar to the topic coverage on the Multistate Bar Examination.
Each student will receive a personalized report detailing your performance on the diagnostic, including individualized recommendations for where to focus your attention and studies to improve your academic performance and bar success. You will also receive a score that is relative to your peers.
You will receive an email directly from Kaplan with instructions for completing the diagnostic at the end of this week. Please complete the diagnostic to the best of your abilities without reference to any materials. You will have from Saturday, May 11 – Saturday, May 18 to complete and submit your diagnostic.
If you have any questions or concerns about the diagnostic, please contact Professor DeShun Harris at d.harris@memphis.edu.
