đź“… Tuesday, March 31, 2026
⏰ 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
📍 Student Lounge
Why It Matters
Every blood donation has the power to save lives. Hospitals rely on a steady supply of donated blood for patients undergoing surgery, cancer treatment, trauma care, and more.
This need is especially urgent in Memphis.
As a city where approximately 63% of the population is African American, blood donations play a critical role in supporting patients living with Sickle Cell Disease—a condition that disproportionately affects the African American community.
Many individuals with sickle cell disease require frequent blood transfusions throughout their lives. For these transfusions to be most effective, it is often important to have closely matched blood types, which are more likely to come from donors of similar ancestry.
That means local donors can make an especially powerful difference.
By donating blood, you are not just helping in a general sense—you may be directly supporting someone in our own community who depends on regular transfusions to live a healthier, more stable life.
🍀 Donate & You Could Win
As part of Vitalant’s Lucky Giveaway, donors who give blood between March 1 and April 5 are automatically entered for a chance to win a $10,000 gift card.
Give back—and you just might get a little luck in return.
