Paid Opportunity for Early Bar Prep
Students with at least 42 credit hours and recent graduates of any law school may participate in a pre-test conducted by the State Bar of Nevada. They will be pre-testing MBE-style multiple-choice questions for a new Nevada licensing exam in mid-January. Students who participate in the pre-test will receive $150 to answer 50 questions in 2 hours. They will also receive same-day feedback (broken down by subject) on how they scored.
This exam will not test Nevada law—it will test basic concepts from the 7 MBE subjects. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to get baseline information about their knowledge of those subjects before they plunge into more bar study.
Students will be able to take the pre-test at any Prometric testing center nationwide. And they can schedule the pre-test at their convenience anytime from January 12, 2026, through January 24, 2026.
And there’s more! Nevada is committed to complete transparency for its exam, so all pre-testers will receive in December an outline specifying exactly the rules that will be tested on the exam. Not topics, but rules–like in a bar prep outline. Pre-testers won’t need to study the outline (they can take the pre-test cold), but they are welcome to do so—and to use it as a helpful guide for their other bar study.

Unfortunately, students or grads who plan to seek admission in Nevada cannot sit for the pre-test. Nor is this opportunity available to students or graduates from schools located in Nevada or one of the contiguous states (Arizona, California, Oregon, Idaho, and Utah). For other students and recent graduates, however, this is an excellent opportunity to earn cash while obtaining baseline feedback on their knowledge of core bar subjects and multiple choice skills.
