Public Interest Law Initiative Law Student Internship Program Application Opening soon!

PILI’s online application system for our Law Student Internship Program for Summer 2026 is opening soon. For 2L Law Students, it opens on Saturday, November 1st at 10:00 a.m. CT and for 1L Law Students on Saturday November 15 at 10:00am CT. The PILI stipend is $6500 for 400 hours of work. We will be funding 56 Summer Interns at 37 agencies this summer, and the list of agencies can be viewed here.

All prospective Interns must apply using PILI’s online application system. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, and applicants can apply to up to 10 different public interest law organizations. Many agencies try to get their hiring done ahead of the new year, so we encourage students to apply early. Because of the rolling application, it is likely that some positions will be opening into the new year, and the application will always reflect the open positions.
