Announcing a new Library Service- 24 Hour app based checkouts for Law Library Materials through Meescan

Up to this point, the library has offered 24 hour checkout through photographing the barcode sticker on the back of the book and emailing the picture to our circulation email address. Now we have a better, more reliable system. Today, I am pleased to announce that we have implemented a new system for remote checkouts: Meescan.

Meescan is an app-based checkout system. With this app, you can log into your university library account and use your phone’s camera as a barcode scanner to check out materials from our collection. All of the checkout limits and dates are the same while using this app. This app can only be used inside the law school for materials from the law school collection and requires your location service to be on during use. To use this app, you will need to scan the barcode on the sticker, not any barcodes printed on the back of the book. We are more than happy to help you procure items from other campus libraries- just come speak with one of us or submit your request through the web interface.

We would love for all of you to try this service and let us know what you think. You can download the Meescan app by following the link below, or by pointing your mobile device’s camera at the QR Code. Please enjoy this new service, and if you have any questions please email me at blbeals@memphis.edu. Have a great semester, everyone, and we hope to see you in the library.
