Unauthorized Parking on Court Street
Students,
Unfortunately, we have noticed a significant increase in the number of students parking illegally in law school staff and visitor spaces on Court Street last semester.
Refrain from doing so moving forward. While you may believe that there is no harm in parking in such spots, please recognize that the visitor’s spot you may park in may have been reserved for the adjunct faculty member coming in to teach your class or the judge arriving to speak to your student organization. Parking spots on the south side of Court Street are reserved for faculty and staff who pay a considerable sum for the privilege of parking there. There are only enough spaces as there are faculty and staff who have paid for their permits; in fact, there is a waiting list of faculty and staff who wish to park there. Please be respectful of those who are assigned to park in faculty/staff and visitor parking spots as you plan your own transportation. Parking options can be found at https://www.memphis.edu/law/student-affairs/parking.php.
