Extra! Extra! Read All About It – School of Human Ecology

Registration for Summer and Fall 2020 opens Monday! Have you read the REGISTRAR’S MEMO? If not, you should. Below is a guide to help you know when you may register:

  • VETERANS ONLY – Monday, April 13 at 8:00 a.m.
  • 43+ attempted hours – Tuesday, April 14 at 9:00 a.m.
  • 15-42 attempted hours – Thursday, April 16 at 9:00 a.m.
  • 0-14 attempted hours – Friday, April 17 at 9:00 a.m.

NOTE: ONLY Veterans are allowed to register prior to their designated registration day. If your UofM myMemphis portal lists a date that does not correspond with your attempted hours, you should disregard that date.  Also, pay close attention to the time associated with your registration day. Any student who registers out of turn will be dropped from their classes.

Not sure how many attempted hours you have? Refer to Ms. Edwards’ March 18th “READ THIS EMAIL! Registration News!” email. Contact Ms. Edwards if you have questions or need clarification.

ALSO… Summer 2020 Classes will be offered online. Here’s some information that we hope will aid you in making your choices:

Sales:  Sales will be primarily asynchronous (events happening at different times for each student) with one weekly synchronous class meeting (i.e., a real-time class by video).  The synchronous class meeting is currently scheduled for Mondays from 9 to 10:15 a.m.  For the asynchronous component of the class, your professor will assign a variety of assignments for each week.  You may complete the weekly assignments at your own pace over the course of the week, as long as you submit them by the due date.  Assignments may include pre-recorded videos, quizzes, readings, online discussion boards, virtual meetings with the professor, etc.  Additional information will be provided in the course syllabus.

Criminal Procedure I:  Criminal Procedure I will be synchronous (i.e., real-time classes by video) at the days/times listed on the schedule.  Additional information will be provided in the course syllabus.

Externship:  Professor Schaffzin has communicated with Summer 2020 Externship Course Students about the structure of the Externship Course class components and field placements.  Please refer to those communications for more details.

Additional Courses:  If additional courses are added for the summer, we will announce the addition(s) via the blog.
