1L Advising Information
Dear 1Ls,
Fall Registration is the week of April 6. Below is some information that will be helpful as you start thinking about your schedule for next fall and beyond.
Fall 2020 Course Schedule
We will be releasing a draft of the Fall 2020 Course Schedule this week. You will have an opportunity to review the draft schedule and provide feedback on the schedule through your student leaders. We will take this feedback into account in creating a final Fall 2020 Course Schedule.
We anticipate that the final Fall 2020 Course Schedule will released by the week of March 9.
Advocacy, Business, Health, and Tax Law Certificate Information Session
Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 25, there will be a Certificate Interest Meeting in Room 244 at 12:00 p.m. We offer four certificates: Advocacy, Business, Health, and Tax. At the information session, certificate advisors will provide information about the certificates, including requirements and how to declare your interest. You can also find more about our certificates here or declare your interest here.
If you think you are interested in Advocacy, Business, Health, and/or Tax, I strongly encourage you to go and learn more about these opportunities.
Academic Advising Workshop
On March 9, Dean Wilson will have two Advising Information sessions for 1Ls:
- Section 11: Monday, March 9, at 10:00 a.m. in Room 244
- Section 12: Monday, March 9, at 11:00 a.m. in Room 326
All 1Ls should plan to attend these sessions for important information about graduation requirements and advising.
Individual Academic Advising Meetings
After Dean Wilson’s advising sessions, we will assign each 1L to work with an academic advisor, who will be either a professor or dean. You can schedule an individual meeting with the academic advisor to plan your schedule for the fall and beyond. We anticipate that academic advising meetings will take place during the second half of March and/or early April.
Students who declare their interest in pursuing Advocacy, Business, Health, or Tax Law Certificates will be assigned to that certificate advisor for academic advising.
Additional Advising Resources
In the coming weeks, we will also provide more information about other advising resources that will be helpful as you prepare for your meetings with your advisor and as you plan your classes for the fall semester. In the meantime, you may find additional information here helpful.
Thanks,
Dean Aden
